Sunday and mid-week Services, etc.

Usual Sunday and mid-week Services at Holy Trinity Church follow the pattern below:-

8.00am – Holy Communion (Book of Common Prayer)
This is a simple, quiet, reflective, said service using the traditional prayer book.

10.00am – All-Age Worship (1st Sunday in month) / Family Communion (Common Worship) other Sundays.
This is our main morning service. The first Sunday each month is geared towards families and those who want a more relaxed style of worship (there is no communion at this service) On other Sundays we follow the contemporary language service of Holy Communion. On those occasions when there is a fifth Sunday in the month the service includes a specific opportunity to receive prayer for healing / wholeness.

4.00pm – Messy Church (monthly – 3rd Sunday in month) - see separate post

6.00pm – Evening Worship (monthly – 1st Sunday in month)
This monthly service is an opportunity for a more reflective style of worship. We alternate between services of Evening Prayer (either BCP or CW), Holy Communion, A Service of Light or sometimes Compline.

Plus … Monthly Mid-week Services:

‘Up-to-5’s’ Service: Each month (during School Term-time) there is a service specifically for younger children on the second Tuesday at 10.50am. Lasting just 15 – 20 minutes approx, this service is currently attended by children and staff from Holy Trinity Pre-School and the Foundation Stage of Princes Plain Primary school.

Thursday Morning Holy Communion: Each month on the first Thursday of the month at 10.30am.

MESSY CHURCH

MESSY CHURCH

MESSY CHURCH

Fun, Food, Fellowship, Worship … for ALL THE FAMILY That’s MESSY CHURCH and here at Holy Trinity it happens (usually) on the Third Sunday of each month, from 4pm until 6pm, in the Church Rooms. There is no charge for adults, but we do ask just £1 per child towards the cost of craft materials. (NB: All children must be accompanied by an adult.)
Want to know more? Come along to our next MESSY CHURCH on Sunday 20th February 2011, when we shall be thinking about ‘A New Start …’.

Our Messy Church Christingle Service raised £94.25 towards the work of The Children’s Society. Many thanks to all who contributed.

Church Heating – now working!

If you have visited Holy Trinity in the past few weeks you will know that our heating broke down on 27th October. The GOOD NEWS is that, after several weeks of shivering, we now have heating again! Hallelujah!

Thanks to the generosity and hard work of local firm, Ability Ltd., the warm air unit which drives our heating system has been replaced at a cost of £11,208. This is much less than feared for which we are truly grateful but, unfortunately, we simply do not have that kind of money to spare. Indeed, following the renewal of the toilet facilities for our Church Rooms we are very short of funds.
Are you able to help? Any donations, large or small, towards the cost of getting the Church heating working again will be very gratefully received.
